These lovely clients came to us looking to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary in style. They knew they wanted to hold the party in their back garden, a lovely mature garden which provided lots of creative input (and some challenges!) so creating a design that perfectly complimented this space was essential. They wanted a party that honoured their South American roots, whilst also catering for a range of ages.
The Styling
Picking up on the South American styling we wanted to create a vibrant, fun party, with plenty of comfortable seating. This included large sofas with tropical print cushions, apple crate style coffee tables and colourful but cohesive cube seats. Designing with the garden in mind was really important so, using a large stretch tent almost put a lid over the garden, meaning flower beds and trees became part of the décor. We used an existing pergola structure to house the tropical fronted bar and enhanced the styling with palms, flowers, hats and butterflies. One of the loveliest areas was an open air zone, with vintage festoon hanging above heads and a circular seat creating a natural gathering point, we were luckily blessed with gorgeous weather!
The Experience
All of these styling elements came together to create a really gorgeous party with a truly lovely atmosphere. Guests were kept well fed with delicious canapes and bowl foods that circulated throughout the evening, and nobody went thirsty with our excellent bar service, providing not only delicious cocktails but some real entertainment as the barmen threw themselves into the party atmosphere, with Cuban hats and party glasses making an appearance. A fantastic Latin guitarist provided wonderful background music while everyone mingled, and later in the evening our DJ absolutely nailed the South American brief, kicking off with Sauvemente getting everyone on the dance floor! A sweet gluten free treat was in store for everyone later in the evening as cake was scut, speeches were made and old memories were recollected.
