A Sparkling and Stylish

New Years Eve Party

Mirage Expertise at this event

With barely a month’s notice, we were approached by a returning client to craft the perfect New Year’s Eve party. The celebration was originally planned to take place in the bar area of the client’s home, but once we discussed logistics and guest flow, it became clear that a marquee in the garden would better suit what we all wanted to achieve. That decision opened up a world of styling opportunities. Conversations quickly turned to dark and moody aesthetics, beautiful draping, and a refined black and silver colour palette. It was more than enough inspiration to get our design work underway and we got the ball rolling immediately.

The Challenges

As with any event delivered on a short turnaround, timing was our biggest challenge, particularly with Christmas and New Year right in the middle of our build schedule. With suppliers closing for at least three days (and some for over a week), logistics needed to be absolutely watertight. In fact, the marquee build began more than two weeks before the party just to try and accommodate everyone’s festive schedules.

On the main marquee build day, our team were met with sideways rain and bitterly cold gale-force winds, not exactly ideal! Building in those conditions was, to say the least, tricky. Although the rain eased as the build progressed, the temperature never really lifted. Even on the night itself, we were in constant competition with the elements, carefully heating the tent and managing condensation to keep guests comfortable.

The Styling

Our client had a few very clear ideas, particularly for the entrance walkway and the table styling, and we took great joy in bringing those elements to life as closely to her vision as possible.

Guests arrived via a beautifully draped, chandelier-lit walkway that immediately set the tone for the evening. At the end of the entrance, a step-and-repeat board created the perfect moment for those all-important Instagram photos before guests moved into the main tent.

Inside, the dining area felt intimate and atmospheric. Tables were spotlit in soft pools of light within the darkened marquee, twinkling with candlelight, crystal glassware and elegant white floristry. A silver mirrored centre bar acted as a natural focal point and divide within the space. Swagged black voiles added depth and drama, gently leading guests toward the dance floor.

At the far end, state-of-the-art intelligent lighting transformed the dance space, scattering reflections from the mirror ball and creating a dynamic party atmosphere. Black velvet seating lined the edges of the tent, moodily lit by crystal table lamps, while white florals continued through to the coffee tables to maintain cohesion. The bespoke “Midnight at the Manor” branding carried seamlessly from the entrance to the DJ booth and seating plan, tying every detail together. The dance end of the marquee was enclosed with glass walls, allowing guests to admire the specially lit house (and watch the midnight fireworks) without stepping out into the cold.

The Experience

Our aim was simple: to create an unforgettable New Year’s Eve celebration.

From the moment guests stepped into the tent, they knew they were in for something special. With our client’s friend and lifestyle concierge managing parts of the entertainment, our presence on the night ensured everything ran seamlessly, allowing him to relax and enjoy the evening as a guest too. The entertainment was nothing short of incredible. A DJ provided elegant background music throughout dinner, while a high-energy party band delivered electrifying sets between courses.

The pinnacle of the evening was an awe-inspiring eight-minute firework display, perfectly timed to the New Year’s countdown. As midnight struck, the sky lit up, and the party truly began. The DJ and MC took over for three more hours of dancing and cocktails, while podium dancers added bursts of energy throughout the night. A photopod ensured guests left with lasting memories, and the classy 2026 ice carving proved a popular photo moment.

Despite the bitter temperatures outside, the marquee remained warm and cosy thanks to three heaters working continuously throughout the evening. Guests never had to brave the cold, even the luxury toilet trailer was enclosed within its own tented area for a completely seamless experience. As with all Mirage Parties events, no detail was left unconsidered. The outdoor viewing platform was warmed by classy gas heaters, coats were handled by a friendly cloakroom attendant, and canapés circulated at 1am to keep revellers fuelled for dancing the night away.

The result? An evening that was sophisticated, stylish and slick. The perfect way to welcome 2026.

Reliable, knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. Their professionalism made my job considerably easier from start to finish. – Z.B
