We organised a festival themed surprise party for this client’s 40th birthday back in 2008. That party, held on a local farmer’s field, was a huge success with friends bringing their own tents so that serious partying could occur. For this party, ten years later celebrating a milestone 50th birthday, we’d repeat the festival theme, taking the party experience to the next level and beyond.
Ice cold buckets of beer greeted guests in the camping field as they arrived early to pitch their tents. From the camping field guests wandered up a path adorned with Half Moon Festival and Indian Summer flags to the main party tipis. These Giant Hat tipis had a welcoming and informal styling and were positioned so that guests could enjoy fabulous views over the Surrey countryside.
Champagne and grazing food was served – the gin and tonic popcorn being a particular favourite – and a talented guitarist and singer played in the late afternoon sunshine. Up next was a roaming acoustic band who had a captivated audience singing along to well known tunes. The cocktail bar was in full swing and guests enjoyed canapés and bowl food as the party atmosphere stepped up a gear. Our spectacular DJ collective took to the stage and smashed it with high energy dance anthems that packed dance floor.
After all the night’s high octane entertainment a huge fire pit was lit for guests to sit round and enjoy the summer night until the small hours. We then served a full breakfast and copious amounts of lush black coffee and fresh orange juice in the morning to sate those thumping heads.
