A decade ago, Mirage Parties had the privilege of producing a remarkable Gatsby themed event for our esteemed client’s fabulous 50th celebration. The success of that party led our client back to us for his 60th, and we were certain that we could take our clients on an extraordinary party journey. Putting our creative minds to work we presented back a truly immersive 60th birthday party, an unforgettable, fully immersive event that left guests enchanted and transported them to a world of wonder and delight.
The party journey commenced with bespoke invitations, inviting guests to embark on a tropical cruise aboard an ocean liner bound for an exotic destination. The captivating twist was that the ocean liner was ingeniously “docked” in an industrial barn in landlocked Surrey. From the moment guests arrived, they were guided by themed signposts to “Key West Port Petworth,” the bustling dock where the mystery cruise awaited them. Enhanced with dockers, dock background effects and styling, and an air of excitement, guests boarded the awaiting vessel, ready to set sail.
Welcomed aboard by the Captain and crew, guests descended onto the back deck of a beautifully recreated period cruise liner, set beneath a mesmerizing, starlit moonlit sky. The ambiance was further enhanced with enchanting aromas and realistic sound effects, immersing them in a world of luxury and adventure. As they enjoyed welcome drinks and delectable canapes, entertainment was aplenty, with the comedic captain, glamorous singers, a mix-and-mingle acro trio, and delightful hostesses. Additional drink service was provided by stokers in a bar beneath the rear-most funnel, adding an authentic touch to the experience.
The surprise of the evening awaited as the cruise liner “docked” in the vibrant Caribbean destination of Havana. With gasps of wonder, the skyline dramatically opened to reveal a magnificent Havana club, perfectly mirroring the spirit of this captivating city. A gangplank was brought to the stern of the ship, inviting guests to disembark and step into a realm of tropical paradise. Welcoming flaming tropical cocktails, vibrant Salsa music, and alluring Salsa dancers accompanied by a skillful DJ ramped up the atmosphere, igniting the dance floor and unleashing the spirit of revelry.
The night reached its crescendo with a STUPENDOUS set from the renowned party band, RPJ. Having graced the stage at the client’s 50th celebration a decade prior, RPJ was a must for this momentous occasion. Their electrifying performance surpassed all expectations, leaving guests immersed in their contagious rhythm and energy.

As guests celebrated in what was once a draughty, cold industrial barn, they were completely transported to a world of enchantment and fantasy.
