Soon after our client’s 39th birthday we began the creative planning process for an impressive event to celebrate her milestone 40th birthday party.
An Ocean’s 11 styled party theme delivered sensational entertainment – casino tables, roaming magicians, sequinned and feathered glamorous hostesses – as well as the narrative for a theatrical and dramatic surprise vault raid.
The party venue needed to be local for guests so The Mandolay in Guildford was chosen. We transformed the hotel’s large corporate function room with full draping to soften and lift the space to a luxurious feel. We designed and styled a swanky Las Vegas strip lounge with large vault door for the evening’s champagne reception and bowl food style dinner.
Lights were then dimmed and mission impossible music pumped through the room as two cat burglars made their way to the vault. They opened the heavy door to reveal the dance floor inside the vault. Guests were blown away by this surprise and filled the dance floor. Taking the party to the next level, our fabulous LED sax player mingled with the revellers and a confetti cannon release peaked the evening’s excitement.
