It was our client’s daughters who first approached us to plan their mother’s 60th birthday celebrations. They were keen that she had a brilliant and memorable party that reflected her personality and style. The party also had to work for each of the four generations of family who were guests at the party.
A 1970’s disco theme was chosen and the party styling was built around the iconic Studio 54 vibe. A bespoke split level marquee was sited at the picturesque St Clere Estate which provided an impressive backdrop to the party and allowed us the space to get creative with the marquee’s layout.
Disco dancing stilt walkers greeted guests at the welcome reception followed by formal family style sharing platters which were enjoyed at long banquette style tables. The table plan – made from iconic 70’s album covers – added another layer of detail.
The highlight of the evening was a specially commissioned video of members of the family in a recording studio singing the hit tunes of the era, fully clad in platforms and flares. This was a total surprise for our client and one of the many enjoyable aspects of being a party planner helping to create memorable moments.
We then took the party to the next level by revealing the most impressive 70’s styled nightclub complete with cocktail bar. Disco fever swept through as guests descending down into the club space were greeted by Studio 54 podium dancers.
