One of the many satisfying parts of our job as leading party planners, and with so many years in the industry is we have the privilege of being at many of our client’s landmark celebrations. For this family, we had planned their 25th wedding anniversary five years ago, and three years ago we worked on their eldest son’s 21st Birthday. It was now their youngest son’s turn for an amazing party as he celebrated his 21st. To add to the celebration, the party fell on the day when the Queen’s Birthday Honours were announced and as a Knighthood had been bestowed to the family there was even more reason to celebrate!
With glorious grounds to work with, the marquee was situated on the stunning front lawn that had views over their quintessentially English duck pond. The chosen marquee had a completely clear gable end which provided fantastic views for the guests despite the slightly unkind June weather. To make the most of the vistas we set up garden furniture for our smoking guests to enjoy the view.
We had a Pirate theme for the 21st Birthday Party with the dress code being ‘black tie with a touch of pirates’. This allowed the guests to be glam as well as contributing to the overall party theme. It was a fantastic brief for our party stylists to work on and it was hugely enjoyable to add a bit of ‘ooh argh shiver me timbers’ into the decor!
The marquee was set up with long banqueting-style tables which is currently very on trend and these were adorned with beautiful rustic iron candelabras that were decorated with bejewelled Pirate’s booty. This all created a great atmospheric hue to the evening. Our cocktail bar focused on delicious rum cocktails and the local brewery provided casks of ale.
Our fabulous international DJ also got in the Pirate vibe and once the dining was finished she took control of the evening. Our Pirates certainly let loose on the dance floor and partied until the early hours of the morning.
